Eligibility Criteria of HDFC Bank Multicurrency ForexPlus Card

To get a Forex Card, just visit a branch with the following documents:

  • Self-attested copy of valid passport
  • Self-attested copy of valid VISA or ticket
  • Address proof, if the resident’s address is different from the address mentioned on the passport
  • Additional documents needed for non-HDFC Bank customers: a) Cancelled cheque/passbook/recent statement and b) Copy of statement – showing application payment for ForexPlus card

Anyone can apply for a Forex Card—no need to be an HDFC Bank customer

Limit of Amount to be loaded on ForexPlus Cards as per FEMA Guidelines

A cardholder can load the amount of USD 250,000, per financial year, on the card.

Protection against Foreign Exchange fluctuation

This card can be loaded in 22 currencies, furnishing protection against exchange rate changes in the future. The Multicurrency card can be used to withdraw cash or use the card at the Point of Trade (POS) terminal in any currency anywhere in the world. For deals carried out in a currency available on the card, you’ll be covered against foreign exchange rate change.

  1. Hello, can you give some more detail about HDFC Multicurrency card like If we add money so what are currency exchange rate like form INR to CAD we load money what are the exchange rate apply. Pos and merchant paying any extra charges apply or tax?

    1. Hi there, Raj !! As of June 26, 2023, the currency exchange rate for CAD(Canadian Dollar) from INR is 61.56 .. Also, when you do transactions on the POS terminals anywhere in the world, you will be charged GST and nothing else ( Keep in mind – For transactions carried out in a currency available on the card, you will be protected against foreign exchange rate fluctuation)
